This was my place and my time. College in Alabama in the 80's were khaki and starched button downs with t-shirt. Loafers without socks. RayBan Aviators or Wayfarers. Total preppy cliche (without the severe madras pants or fugly popped collars) although the girls did start to drift mid decade to the Flashdance/Madonna look and more oversized off-shoulder clothes, bigger hair, and bigger jewelry. Not East Coast by any means but still drifting that way.
