Where is Apple going with the IPhone! It is no longer serving a need. They come out with new phones with mediocre changes, some going backward like the new aluminum case. The price for the phone is in the stratosphere, and we give up more of our privacy. I loved Apple’s approach of letting fulfilling needs of mine now they have become strictly profit driven with minimal development, high costs not worth the hardware. Where is the future of Apple going as I am now considering changing platforms.

First of all, the market has matured. There's only so much you can do with a phone anymore. Second, Apple's pricing has always been in the "luxury" category. They take pride in build quality, excellent (opinion!) software, and maintaining your privacy as much as possible.

Whose need? Yours? Is your need the same as mine? Does my need trump your need? Does your need matter more than mine?

Apple does not rotate around you. How you feel Apple should operate does not actually dictate how Apple operates. How you value the cost of things does not determine what Apple will charge. Your values may not be the same as others.

So depart if Apple makes you unhappy. It's not about what Apple is or is not doing. It's your money, buy what makes you happy. Stop investing yourself in a for-profit company. Apple is not your identity.

Apples appears to have identified 3 key areas to double down on with the base - battery life, camera, performance.

I think the pace of upgrades is fine considering that users are holding on to their phones longer. It would not be feasible to keep cramming enough tech and new features into every new generation of iPhone that would make users want to run out and buy one right away. It's incredibly wasteful, and Apple would not be able to keep up with demand anyways.

At the same time, we see Apple continue to expand the usefulness of the iPhone by way of additional accessories and software features. For example, AirTags is a product that gets more useful when there are more iPhones around you. Apple family plans become more economical when there are more people using iOS devices in the household.

I am not sure what "need" you have that can't be met by the current generation of iPhones. Care to elaborate more?

Hardware wise they are the best or one of the best in any category they compete in. Would you like a trifold phone? Maybe one that can get malware and spies on you 24/7? Apple has been trying new things the past 4-6 years but none of it catches on, or its so niche, that they consider is a failure and move on to something else. I'm not sure what you are wanting from your phone other than I assume you are just on here to troll as you gave no real information.

The iPhone is becoming people's primary computing device.

Messenger, email reader, pager, navigation device, memo taker, shopping list, reminders, home remote, authenticator, wallet, camera, etc.

If you just look at it as a phone.... sure... not a lot going on.

But if you make use of the included functionality, there's plenty of scope for improvement in performance and/or battery life via more efficient processors.
