What do I do if Best Buy sells my Pre-ordered phone?

I forgot BB's procedures. Did you have to pay for it?

Go out in front of the store, get into a fetal position, and cry loudly that Best Buy has wronged you!!
Seriously though, there's NOTHING you can really do... I'm sure you'd get an apology from the store manager, but a lot of good that would do you. I would just let them know you will be writing corporate a letter and referencing the names of the Manager that "took care" of you..

Are you twelve? You are that worried about a phone? There is a reason they pre-sell them so that they have on for you...
I pre-ordered one as contingency plan if AT&T didn't do what is promised to do, but that's another issue. They told me they would hold the phone for me until close of business tomorrow but after that it's free game to any customer.
If they were to sell it though I don't know if there is much you could do unfortunately because it doesn't say on the receipt they are explicitly guaranteeing you one rather they are pre-selling it to you which means they could be pre-selling it to you a year in advance.

What if you change your mind and decide not to buy the 3GS? Will they give you your $50 back? Because i dont want a giftcard
Since when is Best Buy selling them already? I work there and we were told we weren't going to sell it for a while just like we started selling the 3G a few months after release.

I called to check if my pre-order will be there tomorrow and its already sitting in the back, waiting for me to pick it up anytime on friday.

From what I was told yes, you can request a refund of the gift card if you decide not to purchase from them or you can always use it at BB - if you're like me I spend a lot of money there weekly anyway...
I'm personally using Best Buy as a contingency plan if AT&T doesn't deliver tomorrow. So if AT&T works out, I'll cancel Best Buy or vice versa.

this is crazy I have two phones coming one from AT&T and one from Apple why are you stressing now give me a fricking break. I am excited too but come on show up after 12pm they will not have them before 12 noon at bb don't waste there time before that. ask for your phone if they don't have it talk too a manager.

I went into the BB and spoke to the Manager of the mobile department.
1. he pulled my file and said I am guarenteed a black 32G
2. He will call me when its ready for pick up dn it will be heldfor me.
3. If ATT is says I am eligible for the $299 upgrade vice the $499 price then that is what I will pay.
Because i thought the early July, Sept and Aug upgrade applied to me but i never had an iphone. I preordered today and im not trying to pay $499 for a 32GB. i guess i have to wait until July 6th which is when i can upgrade

I would go up there tomorrow and speak with the manager and say "I was guaranteed a iPhone and I want one today!"
I've read about someone who did this with a business in their area and won.
Business refused to pay, not much you can do when businesses lose and still refuse to pay, so they simply placed a lien on their phone system.
Moved that through the courts, and then went in to repo their entire phone network.
Funny thing was, they paid immediately when they shut down the phones and started pulling the system out of the building utility room.
