what do i do (Mac Mini vs. Power Mac)

i have 1000 to spend

mac mini wiht 1 gig of rame and superdrive the 1.42ghz model
or
a second hand powermac g5
like theres some deals on there for under 1000 i saw on ebay. in the completed items too
like this ones at 600 with 10 hours left

im going to be doing small video editing with final cut pro and using fireworks/dreamweaver/soundtrack pro. i think the powermac would be better? i could upgrade it more and stuff.
 
I would buy the PowerMac G5 because you can alway upgrade it down the road and it will be faster then the MacMini...also the ebay link doesn't work.
 
Look at the Apple Refurb store rather than eBay for a G5... eBay is a risky venue unless you really know what you are doing.
 
i was looking threw teh apple store and i found the powermac g5 wtih 256mb ram 80gig hd 1.8ghz tiger,ilife plus i added 512mb ram and airport extreme card and it came to $1,278.00 thats a good deal right? how long wil the powermac be on teh refurb line?
 
but for a couple bucks more i can get a imac g5 with a keyboard and bluetooth and airport and a better video card

well if you don't need the extram ram slots and the ability of the upgrades of the PowerMac then I would just get the iMac..
