What do I need to drive 120/144hz on MBP 2016?

Hi all,

I have a 144hz monitor and want to use my MBP 15" 2016 (with a 460 gpu) to power it at 120/144hz. Is this possible and if so what do I need? I've found USB Type-C to DVI adapters on Amazon but none of them seem to explicitly say they will support 120 or 144hz. Can anyone recommend a setup?

The graphics driver and system preference would have to support it in the first place. I'd ask for info about that before searching cables.

People were able to run 120hz on the last mbp from what I researched so I'd expect it to be fine.
