Thanks, I guess I can split it up instead of just having one huge lunch, why are you so calorie focused at 160?

Because I just passed 160 and am at 155, but 5 months ago I was at 196.

I was gonna say 'cause that's how you stay at 160. :D

That's my "winter weight". I usually drop to 155 in summer.
For lunch: crackers and cheese, or celery and apple with peanut butter, or carrots and a piece of stick cheese, another kind of fruit (pear, orange...) if I don't have an apple, then still another kind of fruit (grapes, kiwi, stawberries...) to go with my one indulgence: homemade cookies! Wash it down with a half glass of water.

Not a lot of variety, but I don't need that. I eat a good breakfast, and dinner is the best: home cooked!

For lunch lately i've been bringing either peanut butter or some type of pasta, I bought these alfredo fettuchini dishes from the local grocery and they are quite good ;)

I normally bring food for lunch 3-4 times a week, it really depends if I go out the previous night and arrive too late to cook something.

Normally I bring some type of meat (steak, fish, chicken) plus some vegetables and a salad. Today, for example, I brought some fish, vegetables, avocado, a mixed greens salad with raspberry vinagrette and an apple for dessert.
Also some yogurt for a late afternoon snack.

I rarely bring a lunch to work but do bring snacks, (fruit, protein etc.). I have gone from eating out for lunch about 75% of the time to eating at home during lunch about 75% and out 25%. I have the luxury of not working far from home. I still have to east at restaurants some of the time because of business meetings etc

Not eating out makes a big difference in helping me maintain weight.

Eat every two hours....something.

Eat vegetables, fruit and protein -- very little flour or simple carbs. Tons of fish and very little beef. For me its the perfect diet for middle age.

Breakfast -

1/2 cup of oatmeal
1/2 grape fruit
4 egg whites

Mid morning-

Apple

Lunch-

1 grilled chicken breast
1 cup of broccoli

Mid Afternoon

1 light yogurt

Dinner

Either 2 bags of trial mix or the same thing I ate for lunch

Down 58 pounds since 5/10... Now I'm stuck at 212... I would like to get down to 200.

CC424, congratulations on your weight loss so far!!!! Nice going!!

If you haven't already looked into it, I believe the secret that has made my losing weight almost easy and pain free is a free iPhone app (and corresponding website) called LoseIt!

I HIGHLY recommend it

Hope this helps!

i pick my lunch up on the way to work, either ham and salad or cheese and salad roll with a nice healthy bottle of water. ( or the occasional red bull LoL )

Or

if we sneak out to the bakery during work hours i will get pies from there. But most of the time Ham and salad rolls mmmmm

For years I've only been eating sandwiches. I also back some type if fruit. I find sandwiches are the easiest to make and I don't like bringing food in containers. I do get jealous though of some of the smells.

For college I usually have:

A PB & J Sandwich
cookies
gold fish
Nalgene bottle full of peach iced tea.

I usually do this:

-On drive into work, 1 piece of dried toast (60 cal). Gets metabolism started.

-After settling into work, 1 banana (90 cal.).

-About mid morning, fruit (strawberries, pineapple, whatever). My grocery store sells pre-packed containers of cut berries, etc. (about half-pound or 1 cup aka 8 ounces). About 75-100 cal.

-Lunch time, a homemade dry sandwich of turkey, swiss, lettuce, etc. About 230 cal.

-Lunch time, a lean cuisine frozen meal 300-400 cal.

-Lunch time, strips of bell peppers, about 2/3 of a cup. About a full sandwich sized ziploc-type bag (14 calories).

-Mid-afternoon, apple slices (grocery store sells a container of 5 pre-packed washed, cleaned, sliced apples bits), 30 calories

-Mid-afternoon, baby carrots. (grocery store sells a bundle of 4 pre-packed cleaned, washed baby carrots. About 30 calories.

-Late-afternoon, a Quaker chewy granola bar. 100 calories.

-Dinner time, a glass of wine or two (200-400 cal). :)

-Dinner time, anything else I want- reasonably of course. Chipotle burrito, or Z-Pizza, or Corner Bakery, etc. Up to 1000 calories.

This is a day's total of about 2300 calories which is just enough to maintain my 160 pounds, even losing a half-pound a week so I supplement by having a cheater day on the weekend (Chicken Parmigiana, Mexican food, etc.)

Hope this helps. I mix up the foods a bit, but yeah- unfortunately I eat a lot of the same during the day, except for the dinner meal.

If I had to count my calories like that I would probably go on a shooting spree. :)

Btw, all the weight numbers posted in this thread are irrelevant unless you specify height. Because dropping from 190 to 160 can mean very different things if you're 5'5 and 6'2.

I usually order something in, today Sushi. Tomorrow something else, it's a surprise everyday!

I work from home when I'm not at a jobsite, so I have pretty much whatever I want.

When I'm at a jobsite, the company Amex covers lunch.

I've never been much on bringing my lunch to work, even when I was in an office. That was always my hour to get the hell out of there and decompress for a while.
