I think I might be the only one who just carries my MBP (15" 2011)...
I go to school and only use it in frees so the battery always lasts the full day with no charging necessary.

I'm going to live and work abroad for a year and in my hand luggage/day sack I will have my MBP 15", power adapter, 500gb WD Passport, mouse, Iphone cable, headphones, Canon DSLR, charger and accessories. I'm going to struggle to keep it under the 7kg weight limit! :)

Toyota, I was thinking you needed that truck to carry all that stuff in! LOL! If it all fits in a backpack, that must be one big heavy backpack.

I answered this question a long time ago before I actually got my MBP. Now I have had it for a little over a month so I know how I use it, and it really varies based on where I am going. This is one of the things that is so great about mobile computing, it really is flexible!

If I'm traveling, I take everything - 13" MBP in an Incase Deluxe Protective Sleeve, MagSafe charger, Toshiba 500GB portable USB hard drive, iPhone 4, iPhone USB cord, headphones, Nook Color, and USB cable for my Nook. All of this is just carried in a basic Nike backpack.

Other times, depending on where I am going and what I am doing, I always have the computer in its sleeve with my headphones in the outside pocket if I'm not going to use it enough to need a charger. If I think I'll need to charge it then I'll throw the sleeve in a canvas messenger bag along with the charger. This computer is so light and portable, I love it!

Apart from the computer itself: Panasonic point-and-shoot camera, 2 USB cords (micro and mini), iPod cable, ZaggSparq charger, 85W computer adapter, backup phone (or sometimes just another phone—usually a Blackberry), microfiber cloth, regular in-ear headphones, and a custom IEM.

If I'm traveling (in additional to the above), I'll have an iPad in there, an additional iPod cable with iPad charger, usually a third phone for local SIM card use (right now it's my Samsung Focus—yes I roam data with my iPhone), 2x iPod classic (has my iTunes music split in half across the two units), 1.5TB FW external (has my iTunes library on it—for my computer), CF card reader (since my SLR uses CF cards), appropriate power outlet adapter (because I prefer to the use the full grounded cord); if I'm flying I like to take a power strip with me if I know I'll be waiting at the airport for a while.
