Nope, Linux is perfectly usable as a desktop to me, even better than OS X in some cases. However, there is no way to write software for the iPhone on it and it doesn't work too well on Apple hardware.

I'm the in-house videographer for a children's hospital. But, as Apple has made it clear that the creative professional market isn't nearly as important to them as selling fashion accessories to hipsters, I almost never use Mac hardware or software at work.

I have a BSE/English with a minor in Technical Writing but I substitute teach, write for my local paper, and do odd jobs with businesses. After college I realized that I didn't want to be stuck in one job when I can just do a little bit of everything, so that's what I do. I also like being able to set my own hours.
