NEVER send an item before you have the money in your hand, i though this was a given?
"Money in your hand" may not even be safe. In some cases bogus money orders or certified checks are sent. You get your cash, but then be surprised in a few weeks (with your iPhone already out the door) by a call from your bank. :(

I wouldn't chance sending an iPhone anywhere except the U.S. and perhaps Canada, too much risk so sell anywhere else, esp. Nigeria.

what about australia :( australians are trustworthy!, well i am :p
i plan to buy a iphone from ebay and i don't need australia to have a bad trading reputation :p

OMG. I'm pretty sure I just did a deal with this guy for an 8gb ipod touch ! Can you tell me his name or address and then I can be for sure. Wow, what a small world. I hope I did not get scammed, payapl emailed me and said to send them the tracking number once I mailed it and once I did they sent me a payment notification that the money would be in my paypal account shortly but it's not there yet ? Please respond to this post. I am really curious now !

Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear about this . I had my Touch on eBay and was amazed at just how many variations on this scam get thrown at me. I noticed that all of these supposed emails from eBay and paypal came up with a different email address than eBay or paypal if I replied to them. I also noticed some grammar and spelling mistakes in the supposed paypal emails. Pretty big tipoff. Anything from ebay or paypal will have your name in it, not just your email account. No one else can get your real name.

Basically, if you're selling something on eBay, never send it to a third party, and NEVER sell it to someone who doesn't actually bid on your item.

Any time anyone wants you to do something other than what is required in a normal transaction, you absolutely should refuse and stop talking to that party.

There is nothing to be gained.

Even before the Nigeria thing ,as soon as the guy wanted to make alternative shipping arrangements, the answer is no and so long.

Thank You!

I really appreciate all the warm replies. I sent back e-mail saying that

I knew it was a scam and i told him fakely, that he will receive police

notice soon. Never responded !

Thank you all again :)

I also was wondering if there is ANY way I can contact the police or the Better Business Bureau or anything like that to in some way, get this guy in trouble ? Any suggestions ? Thanks again
