I think the average MR member has deep-seated anger that they take out in rants about proper English.

i'm kind of new to macrumors, so all i do right now is look at people's avatars and prejudge them accordingly. for example, chundles looks like an alcoholic bob sagat.

We (Irish) tried using a "K" this worked just as well as using a "Z" but we decided to stick with the correct way to spell it using a "U" (LOL)

Not me; I am very fond of the Australian and British MR members. I just have a raw talent of wording my posts for maximum responses.
Well, I'd think that some have waaay too much free time on their hands. I see them in every forum! Especially those with 10.000+ posts...

We lost the 'U' crossing the ocean to get here. We were getting rid of the old correct, new dialect and spelling of the old way of talking. Goodbye george and Charles!

Alot of other not british colonies put U's in flavour and Colour also. I alway's thought that's how it was spelt.
*Cough* Um then why does Canada still have the 'U' in honour, labour, neighbour, colour (etc.)
In general I think the MR posters are nice enough I guess, at least we can hold some sort of decorum when we have disagreements. (like how to spell)

Didn't you know that the american school system sucks? Or could it be our forefathers were lazy and didn't feel like writing the u? lol
