I agree single $99 license fee for all three applications across 3 platforms Mac, Windows and iPad. What's not to love. I will be upgrading to version 2 of all three applications later today.Excellent software, cross platform, for a IMHO ridiculous price. Love it.![]()
The $99 offer I think is only for a limited time, so you may not have a month. I believe it will jump up to $169 for the Universal License.I'm another of those who purchased licenses for both the Mac and Windows versions of the original release. The new unified license is fantastic.
However, my job relies heavily on Publisher, so I'll spend a month with the V2 trial before deciding if and when to upgrade. (I'm mostly concerned that the UI changes will make the adjustment difficult. Even though it's been three years since I left Adobe for Affinity, I still occasionally find myself confused by the UI.)
Good point. Even if I stick with version 1, I know I will eventually need to upgrade anyway. Might as well lock the discount price in now.The $99 offer I think is only for a limited time, so you may not have a month. I believe it will jump up to $169 for the Universal License.
I jumped on it within the first few minutes it was announced. And so far I really like V2, pretty much the same workflow as V1 but with new and better features. Plus redesigned pieces of the software that makes it more modern...
You just have to enter the license on any Device you install it.Anyone know if the new Affinity V2 Universal Licence supports Family Sharing?
It's mostly my girlfriend that needs the Affinity Suite. I tend to use Pixelmator (now Pro) after ditching Photoshop years ago, with Affinity Photo as my backup; but she also has use for Designer and Publisher from time to time. Mostly on hobby basis, though sometimes for work or the odd freelancing gig.
I read that, something along the lines of: You could log in with an Affinity account to enter licence; and then you could log out again, but still get updates. You just have to enter the license on any Device you install it.

That's not as easy and convenient as Family Sharing via App Store.
Now, the new Universal License should be available via In-App purchase, according to the App Store, but under Familiy Sharing it is a bit vague, with "some" and "may" being the key words here:
Would you rather pay a subscription for an ongoing stream of updates? They made a major release with many new features, things need time to implement and the features you need are no exception. The cynic in me says "so that's why they've stubbornly refused to put a knife tool in Designer: so they can charge for it".![]()
The universal license is available as iAP. You can also buy each app individually with iAP.I read that, something along the lines of: You could log in with an Affinity account to enter licence; and then you could log out again, but still get updates.

I bought my license via iAP with AppStore. Then the apps prompted for my Affinity account, and asked if I wanted to link my license. I did, so now when I sign in via web it shows that I have a universal license. I'll check if Family Sharing works on my wife's iPad later today @MitthrawnuruodoI bought the universal license on the affinity website. Then downloaded the v2 apps on my and my sons iPads and activated them with the license.
When you launch a v2 app it asks you for the license. You then enter your affinity username and password and that's it.
I didn't hesitate either, but I completely spaced that my workbooks may be less useful now... Most of the core functions are similar.I love the Affinity Suite of software (although I have to admit I under utilize them) and did not hesitate to grab the upgrade promotion. I, too, am a bit worried about the UI changes since I own the Workbooks (which I cannot even find on their website anymore).
Regardless, it is a great price for amazing software (especially considering the new Universal License)!
That would be relevant information to me as well. I would love to spare Affinity the App Store costs, but I really want it to work on my wife’s (and daughter’s) iPad.… I'll check if Family Sharing works on my wife's iPad later today @Mitthrawnuruodo
I realized that I downloaded the Mac versions (as I don't have an iPad) so my purchases don't show as available for her in the AppStore. However, upon downloading Designer 2 on her iPad and launching, I was given the option to sign into my Affinity account and unlock the license. That would be relevant information to me as well.
