I am getting a used iPhone. Can't afford new right now due to some family issues, but my iPhone 6 is hurting, and it needs to be replaced.

I also need more battery life.

So, considering either a 6s or 7 plus or a 6s or 7 with an extended battery pack.

The plus seems large to me, holding them in the store.

For folks who went from the 6/7/8 size to plus size -- did you regret it? Did you find it comfortable to use? Did you go back to the smaller size?

Maybe in late 2018 or 2019 I'll have the funds to move to an X, but I can't right now, and for work purposes I need to get a day out of a battery.

Thanks for any input.

If one-handed use is top priority, get the 7. If you can deal with the bigger profile, the plus is better in every way. I’ve had them all...6/+,6s/+,7/+,8/+. Makes me no difference. I have med-large hands. However, the 7 plus trumps the 7 in every way except handling. Camera, battery, screen res and size are all better on the plus. The important thing is you stay within your budget like you want to do, and pick the device that best suits your wants.

I got used to it super quickly. I don’t remember what I had before my 6s plus but it was something un-plus. Now I’m at 8 plus. Before the 6s plus, I thought that size looked huge, but after like a week, it was all the other phones that started looking tiny. The one-handed versus two-handed thing wasn’t really noticeable to me. I don’t know if I was ever a one-thumb typist. I loooove the plus size.

You'll get used to it. The plus is a workhorse. Great battery life, way better display than the standard 6/7/8, a very, very noticeable increase in usable display real estate, and way better camera if you're going 7 Plus. I wouldn't be afraid of the size unless you have really small hands, the benefits are vast.

I would definitely opt for the 7+. And obviously has some of the most current specifications, and will be supported longer than the iPhone 6s with iOS updates. Overall it's a great iPhone with similar features to the iPhone 8.

Sounds like the plus is a likely target. I would also consider a 6s or 7 w/battery case, but it seems like the battery case would just make up the price difference anyway (in terms of used market), and make a heavier phone.

Other note -- I don't have a purse/bag, so it goes in my pocket, I have long fingers, so the screen isn't a big deal, and I am a two-hand phone user anyway.

I would like the hands-off siri without have to plug it in. That would be a big help over my 6.

Thanks for all your input.
