Sorry to get off topic, but that may be hard to do.Anyways, I thought that Apple used a strong type of glass. It shouldn't break too easily.
Glass = no. Why? Because it looks like the iPhone. Chrome = no. Why? Because it is old and it is very much prone to scratches. Aluminum = Yes! Why? Because it's not the other two choices.
Besides, I like the nice curve they got on the back. Glass wouldn't have a curve. Aluminum would.

I personally hate the chrome. I never touched the back of my iPod touch when i had it, it went from the packaging to the hard-case i got for it the second i got it home.

What's the point them? You put it in a case to keep the back clean, but since you never look at it, it's useless...
Im saying that I would not use a case if it had an aluminum/ non fingerprinty surface on the back

The world (at least our little chunk of it) wants aluminum or glass. Alas, I fear we are outnumbered by people that like shiny things...
I can assure you if it's the same glass as the iPhone 4 it is certainly not scratchproof. I baby mine and I have a small scratch already.
Maybe Apple lied about the glass. Maybe it is more resistant than before, but not enough to handle the hardness of some random items.
Possibly but I'm *very* careful. At the end of the day though it's a phone. It's gonna get scratched.
Apple boasts about its great designs and how it pays attention to details. But the Ipod chrome back is not a good design. It looks great for the first hour and then is easily damaged. There is nothing elegant or functional about that. A better design is long overdue.
Yeah... The chrome isn't the best, but I don't really pay attention. My vote is for aluminum, although the iPhone 4 design would be sweet, too. I guess we'll see on September 1.
Someone obviously likes it. They must be doing surveys. And yes, a redesign is overdue. Only with the ipod touch 2G to 3G was there no redesign (same with iphone 2G to 3G). Three years? Not likely.
Because 72 people in this forum dictates what a multi-million dollar company like Apple does with their products. They must do research surveys and create multiple designs based on these. THe winner sits on stage on the September 1.
