Which dock would you like to see in iOS 7 release version?

The new dock feels like a step back.. but it's a nice throwback to how the dock looked originally on iOS (or iPhone OS, as it was called ;) )

I'd really would have loved to seen a Mountain Lion dock in iOS 7. But since we didnt get that I would love to see the current dock but with a higher translucency.

Only 17% like the current dock, that would go to 50% if they made it more translucent.

So even if they made it more translucent, it is still a split, and most here will tinker and change wallpaper to fit. What does everyone think is going to happen when the average consumer gets a hold of this? I know many in my family just pick a picture of a pet or someplace they have been and just want it to work, when it doesn't? and looks bad or blends in with text or icons?

Thanks goodness it's beta, but if nothing changes, there will be many less than pleased people and this is just wallpaper issues, ios6 had some interesting things to make almost any wallpaper work, I say "almost" because I still see people I know pick the worst possible wallpaper and still they complain, like the os should do magic:D

These small polls are very telling, and hearing Apple is doing some testing with average users is a good sign, I still say styles and themes would be very popular and avoid this issue.

Yeah, it must be terrible with a pet piture or something!

Seriously, I can't figure out why would Apple use a different dock in iOS 7. This new dock doesn't look Apple designed to me.

I pray for a mountain lion dock on bta 3 haha :p

I don't like the dock. Kind of covers the background picture. Looks like the same dock that was in iOS 3 and below. Only this one is semi transparent.

Hey that's what some people have been saying, it's like a step back?

A while back someone here posted a photo of the dock where it was more translucent. I can't remember where the photo was from.....might have been one of Apple's developer session videos. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a more translucent dock in a future beta.

It'd be cool to see it :0

I posted this a few weeks back. The screenshot came from a developer session video. It looks vastly different than the current implementation.

Beta 6 and we still haven't seen any change in the dock or icons. I guess Apple is too proud to back down

Either that or they've been too busy squashing bugs. I really wouldn't expect to see new icons or a new dock before the GM. Who knows, maybe there will be some surprises at the press conference September 10.

They adjusted the gradients slightly in a previous beta. The most we can hope for is minor adjustments, I think.

Icon designers don't squash bugs. These icons are here to stay.

True, but once the designers are done with them, the programmers (who are busy squashing bugs) have to incorporate them into the OS.

Or course, you're probably right, we're probably not going to see new icons or a new dock. But if we do, I don't think we'll see either until Sept. 10.
