They should cover the edges of the screen - where the glass/plastic ends, as this is the biggest dirt trap - especially on white fronted devices. like this case. So, I will pass...

...the microfiber on the inside is intriguing...

It is. From the few pictures I've seen, the microfiber seems to hold the case onto the phone by friction alone. There doesn't seem to be a front lip on the case to hold the phone in.

Unless it's all done with magnets? :)

Yeah, I'm really disappointed that they're not like this. As you say, it stops dust and it also covers up the edge of screen protectors. I'm actually not sure about purchasing one now.

I'm sorry but when did leather become tacky?

If silicon is considered cheap and leather is considered tacky. What material can I get on my case for it to be considered normal?

I may change my mind when I see the actual case in front of me. However, the color choices are strange. I think most people would assume the cases are plastic and if it looks like plastic my feeling is it might as well *be* plastic--along the cheaper price.

Really? What if Apple priced it at $60? How about $80? Or even $100?

Everyone has their own personal beliefs about what a product is worth.

Me? My ceiling on a phone case is $20.
60,80,100? U know dang sure people will still shell out whatever price apple throws at us whether it be a 64gb ipad mini for 700 bucks or a 40,80 iPhone case..

I don't see how they are tacky unless people are just looking for another lame excuse to bash. My only criticism is the price, but aesthetically they are generally a non-offensive premium leather case that is designed for purpose. personally I would save a bit of cash and buy a cheaper alternative, but as cases go, they are certainly not tacky.

People need a reason to complain. It fulfills something inside them. :p

I think you might be right. As it stands, 29 people think they are tacky! These people either live with unrealistically high expectations, or are simply clicking for effect as far as I am concerned. Price is one thing, tacky they are not. The cases themselves are so plain, I don't think even personal taste comes into this one.

I just got mine (brown + black 5s) yesterday and I do think it looks kind of tacky... but I don't care because it feels great. Something about the texture of the leather makes it feel better in the hand than any other case I've ever used. It actually makes me want to use the phone even more. I wish it was $10 less, but after actually using it for a day I think it is worth it.

They are decent, functional cases. My only complaint is that they fit too tightly and are very difficult to remove (not good if you use a desk or car dock).

They're simple leather cases. I don't see how they could be considered tacky unless one finds the idea od covering your phone with any case as tacky.

Just like any other leather case. Nothing aside from the imprinted logo really sets them apart from any other case. Tried one on my 5S yesterday and it didn't look that good, IMO.
