Yeah it is. I would pick the 8 Gig Nano every time. Regular iPods are hard drive based and thus have moving parts which break. After my 4G iPod's Hard Drive died prematurely I will never buy any hard drive based mp3 player again. Also, the aluminum casing is a huge improvement over the scratch magnet casing of the regular iPods and old Nanos.
Is there any reason why you need 7500+ songs with you at one time. When I was using my 4G iPod I tried to listen to all 10000 songs in one day and was unsuccessful. Has anybody else been able to succeed?
On a serious note, video playback is a good reason for wanting a regular iPod but until there is a true Video iPod (widescreen etc.) it really isn't too interesting to me.
