I deliberately skipped the iPad Air 2 because I've had an Air 1 since launch day and it was still doing everything I needed of it. I was slightly jealous of the thinner design and the gold colour option, though. But now the main thing I'm noticing is the lack of RAM, mostly because I'm doing a lot more photo editing on my iPad using apps such as VSCOcam.

My main hopes for he iPad Air 3 are more RAM and force touch, probably better graphics too. I think the physical design of the device is in a pretty good place right now but I really wouldn't mind if Apple wanted to push boundaries and make it even thinner, if that's even possible or practical. Either way, I've loved my iPad Air 1 but I will be preordering the Air 3.

Ps. If the rumours of a black and gold iPhone 6s are true, I'd like to see this colour combination available with iPad too. That combination is my only excuse for buying the next iPhone, right now. So I'd like an iPad to match.

A pile of iPad Air 3s, with Ivys new design:

Can't possibly be right, not even close.

They're all the same color. ;)

The 2GB in the Air 2 is more than enough in my opinion. Usually I have about 900MB free. Now I have 209MB free, but MacRumors is a huge memory hog.
Have there been any rumours of a black and gold iPhone? Don't think I've seen any. I can see it happening though, along with white and rose. But I just can't see it happening with the iPad. I don't really know why.

Yeah. There was an article about the suspected new colour options here on MacRumors as well as a few threads and mock ups. A black and rose gold iPhone would be gorgeous and I can't see any reason why they wouldn't translate those colour combinations to iPad. Apple know people like to match up their devices, they downright promote that with those new 'collection' images on the website.

You're probably right though, 2GB of RAM is likely more than enough right now. So the iPad Air 3 will be a significant upgrade for me anyway.

Yeah I saw the thread that I think you were talking about, and I agree, those concepts are awesome. But I don't think I saw that article. Could you post a link? And as I said, I would love to see the colour combinations I mentioned above.
