How do you get Siri to read new texts? I tell Siri to read new texts and it says you can reply Or read again. If I say read again she says you can reply or read again. Stumped.

Reason why she's not reading is because you probably have your message preview "off" if you turn it "on" it will read it. At least it worked for me.

I would use her more but I am around noise and it limits her. My wife is blind and it makes her phone so much more useful. far easier for her to send texts and emails and setting alarms that took her forever to set before.

Mostly for setting reminders or alarms. I occasionally dictate a message or have Siri read out messages or call people for the sheer novelty of it as well :)

I almost exclusively use siri for the weather in the morning, but I think apple might have to re-evaluate if 39 degrees doesn't seem cold outside

My thoughts exactly. Pretty much same usage for me, reminders once or twice here and there.

I bought the phone for the camera mostly, Siri looked fun but more of a gimmick. Couldn't have been more wrong!

I use it for reminders a lot, timers when cooking, quick texts to my wife while working and asking questions like "what's the date 28 days from today" for work, so much quicker than actually thinking!

Reminders, Alarms, Calendar Events, Speech to text, Calling, Weather, Bill Splitting, Currency and Measurement Conversions...etc

I am. I think it's great for when I'm driving, I love that I don't need to touch the phone to read & send texts.

To activate Siri I have to hold down the home key for more than 2 seconds.

How do you read and send texts with Siri without touching your phone?

I think it's interesting how many people have stated that changing music and making calls are their biggest uses of Siri. Those aren't really even "Siri" features, those features were available in Voice Control since iOS 3.0 and the release of the 3GS. I use those features all the time on my iPhone 4.

To activate Siri I have to hold down the home key for more than 2 seconds.

How do you read and send texts with Siri without touching your phone?

I would assume by using either a bluetooth headset or the wired headset with the built in mic. You don't have to touch the phone to activate Siri if you use one of those.

look like apple upgrade siri next iphone not next firmware

that suck ..

siri is cool option but only doing some work not smart like we want .....

I had always wanted to use my calendar but I was just too lazy to input everything into it. (lazy, yeah I get it)

Now with Siri I use reminders, calendars, alarms, and notes that make me more organized, something I never really was until it came around.

Mostly Reminders... I have a "Grocery" list and a "Christmas" list set up... it's so easy to just say "Add 'Milk' to my Grocery List" ... or "Add Footbath for Wife to Christmas List"

How do I change this?

Sorry, didn't follow the thread after my post. If you haven't already figured it out here's how it is. To turn on message preview to allow Siri to read your messages can found be in SETTINGS>NOTIFICATION SERVICES. Scroll down and you'll see that "Show Preview" is currently selected. Turn if off and Siri can now read your message. This is exactly what I did to mine.

I use Siri mostly for playing music while running and for looking up random stuff (mostly chemistry facts/formulas). However, I don't use it for the latter as much as I would like to, because I get no service in my school.
