iKlear and paper towels. Stuff's amazing, using it with PC monitors and such too. Not as much need to polish with MBP now, not plastic!

I have always used windex on a paper towel. Works fine for me, I actually clean the whole case of the computer with windex too. Gets all the oily junk that sometimes accumulates on there off

Hope you're using the ammonia-free Windex. As for me, I use lens wipe, the ones that come in mini packages.

I saw that this was an old post. been reading so many bad approaches to cleaning screens! I'm using Dust-Off screen cleaning products. we all know them as the duster company, but looks like they have grown product line.

here are all screen cleaning products (cloths and sprays):

this is what I purchased with the spray:

and use this on my screens and tablet:

you don't want to do that! I've read a lot of articles and many say that the paper pulp in the paper towel will scratch screen over time. reason the film that is on most every device.

microfiber and screen spray. i like the Dust-Off brand.

eh, true I use microfiber cloth most of the time when I clean it now. However, I hadn't had any issues with scratching for like the first year I used windex and a paper towel with the macbook, you just have to be careful. Probably not the best solution though if you are worried about scratching.

Once you use Sprayway glass cleaner, you will never go back. Look for it in a hardware store, lowes, home depot, or maybe wal mart. They don't normally have it at the supermarket. It comes in a can, and its bright blue lid makes it look like smurf colored spray paint.

The first time I used this stuff to clean my mac I swear I couldn't have told it from a brand new computer. Even using a regular paper towel works well, but anything lint free is better.
Works great on windows too!

Surprised at the number of people using iKlear. It's too expensive for me :( and I personally don't think the price is worth it - but then again I've never used it.

I use a dry microfibre cloth and my (fresh) breath to clean the fingerprint and any dirt off my screen but it often dries out quickly making rubbing the cloth against the glass quite difficult due to friction. I'm going to try out dampening the screen very slightly and then buffing over with a cloth seeing as some of you do this to clean your screen to make the cloth rub smoothly.

Also, as VMMan pointed out, make sure there are no debris on the cloth which can often be picked up and trapped in the micro fibre before rubbing against your glass screen. This can easily happen for those who may not have noticed.

Water + microfiber for me.

Found that anything else scratched the screen badly... especially on white MacBooks.

I used to use iKlear and now I have changed to the Philips Screen Cleaning Fluid. I used iKlear for years and always had a little problem with just a little film left behind. You could only see it from the side. The Philips was recommended by someone on MR and I find that it is not leaving any film. YAY!

Baby wipes and then dry it off with a paper towel. No need to over do it. The MBP is tough and the glass has no scratches!
