Yeah, there is a lined paper layout in Microsoft Word for Mac.
It's pretty rad...a lot of people use that.

Another vote for Word Notes function! It's searchable, tabbed, and I love how it automagically makes bullet points for me. Bullets is my style. :D

You might check out something like this...I'm sure there are a number of similar programs out too, but this is the first one I came across. Anyone here that's actually used Schoolhouse or a similar app?

I use Schoolhouse to manage my classes. It's great. The interaction with the Address Book is great because you can e-mail an instructor with one click, it will keep and calculate grades, and there is an assignment and notes function. I don't use it for class notes because a lot of my notes in the past 6 months or so are medical equations and such.

And Schoolhouse is free...HIGHLY recommended, the author did a fantastic job.

Pencil and paper here. I tried OneNote on my Windows laptop and found it too inefficient. I write notes in the margins, at odd angles, use stars and circle phrases to highlight important points, draw arrows to connect related thoughts, and all kinds of chaotic looking chicken scratching. If I'm still having trouble with something a week or so before mid-term exams, I'll open up Word and type up my notes in an outline format. If I need more help I use Powerpoint to make slides to use like flash cards. I may make the move to Pages and Keynote this quarter, though.

Same here. I love the chaotic notetaking capabilities that only something as simple as pen and paper can deliver.

pen and papers ftw.
seriously, there hasn't been any perfect digital note-taking solution. even ones that take digital pens into account.
also, by writing the stuffs down, i remember the lectures much longer.
the voice recorder helps when i can't concentrate in class (feeling sleepy, tired, or whatever the reason is). i can re-listen to it at home when i want.
