One of the things that make the iPad a great product is its diversity. You can use it for about anything you want to do.

So here's my question. What is its primary use for you?

Yeah I realized I forgot that option right after I created the poll. There's no possibility to change it now is there?

Nope. Major defect of the poll function. On the other hand, it might mess up the poll results if we were able to do that. For instance, I'd have to somehow be able to change my vote from "Other" to "Reading."

I use mine for just about everything: web browsing, emailing, streaming radio, and watching movies/tv shows with Plex. My main laptop (an older MBP) died a few weeks ago, and I'm not planning on replacing it anytime soon. I'm a content consumer, not creator and the iPad suits my needs almost perfectly.

No 'multiple' option? I would say yes to all of the above. :D

The question is what is your *primary* use. I too do all of the above with my iPad, but the thing I do more than any of the options listed is reading. I'd say over half my time on the iPad is spent reading, and the rest of the time is evenly divided among music, videos, games and work.

All except for videos, I tend to not have much chance to watch video on the ipad, but I work on it, use it for music, email, browsing, VNC/RDP via VPN tunnel.

I also use it for the odd game.

Web Browsing, reading the news and things like that mostly.

I donate plasma here at college so I always use it there and watch movies on netflix/hulu+.

Mostly reading -- Instapaper, Flipboard, Kindle & iBooks.

Sometimes for games.

A few times a week I whip out my Bluetooth keyboard, connect to a server with iSSH, and write some code.

All of the above plus I just did a 45 minute yoga class today and 30 minute pilates class yesterday. Freaking love it

I think a multiselection poll would be better. I think most people use it for Games and work, or a mixture of the other poll options.

- Singletasking (i.e. doing things when I need to focus in a distraction-free environment like outlining my ideas etc.)

- Reading ebooks

- Reading web (coincides with singletasking)

- GTD and planning (Things, iCal, mainly iCal is so similar to paper diary that is is great to use)

- taking notes

- document storage (when I am going for a meeting to work or to a client, I only throw my iPad to my bag and go, all necessary documents that will be discussed are always with me)

- watching movies and tv shows in bed

- interact with web (it is much more pleasant on the iPad than on classic computer)
