Hmmmm on my iBook 14" I tend to have iTunes, any important finder windows, and any windows with required information on it (TextEdit etc). On the external 21" (with the menu) I have Photoshop and InDesign. Sorted.

i have 2 screens at work doing web app development. the left is where i write the code, run the debugger, look at the database, etc.; and the right holds the browsers to view the results. great for debugging and unit testing. it's also useful when i need to compare or reference several different classes at once (when i've painted myself into a corner!!!)

i really miss it when i get home. the widescreen 17" just isn't quite the same.

I sometimes hoook my iBook up to an ext. 17", and just put adium and iTunes onto the external screen, and keep homework or something on the primary screen.

Second screen issue... someone please help....

I just got a MacBook Pro and a Cinema 23 display. . . I use the cinema display for my main stuff, but while I work I like to watch a DVD on the MBP, but here's the problem:

When I load the dvd and drag the player to the second screen, so I put that screen playing the DVD in full screen mode, but then when I go to the primary screen and do anything, it takes the DVD back to a window (as compared to full screen) on that second screen.

Ideas on how to fix\remedy this?

Thanks!

17" PB and 17" LCD.
When I'm working, I spread Pages, Word, Powerpoint & Excel across the screens (usually work on the PB with palettes & other docs on the second screen).
When I'm playing I have Motion, Comiclife, iPhoto, iMovie spread across both. Again, primary task on the PB with palettes and other apps on the other screen.
I find it very difficult now to work on one screen, such as when I am travelling or at a client site.

I have Dell 20' widescreen that I use for extra screen real estate. I enjoy having multiple pages open at once while I'm working and this saves having to click back and forth all the time.

When I used two screens (in my windows past), I had whatever I was working on on the main (i.e. biggest) screen and any distractions (iTunes, IM, email, web etc) on the other screen.

I did something similar when I was running two screens. I would leave Adium, iTunes, and Mail.app open on the left screen (off-centered from me) and anything I was currently working on would be done on the right screen (directly in front of me). That always made it easy to do things like refer to a web page or document while working on something I was writing. Those were the days...

My main screen (the 2005FPW) always has Shiira and/or Mail maximized. The PB screen always has iTunes, Adium, and anything else.

I have a MacBook Pro and a Dell 2005FPW. When hooked up, I use the Dell as the main screen and the MBP screen for iTunes or movies. I'm gonna have to start using it for film editing soon though.

I use 23" screen with my macmini and my PC and i dont see the need for a 2nd screen. On my iMac 20" i tryed using a screen but could not get used to it because with expose its not a problem.

Like others, I use the 20" screen for my most important current apps that benefit from more space. My 12" PB screen gets iTunes, Finder windows, etc.
