Besides the updated chipset, the only things I can think of are:

-Video in
-120hz display Mini-LED or OLED
-Backlit keyboard
-Height adjustable stand like the Studio Display

Am I missing something?

Liquid Retina XDR display on par with the newest MacBook Pros. Two sizes: 24” and 27” like the last Intel iMac lineup.

Other than the lack of HDR, I have no other complaints about my M4 iMac.

27" and/or 32" options.

Ability to use it as a USBC monitor for other devices. Bring back Target Display Mode.
The larger monitor doesn’t matter to me but I do think a larger monitor option would be good. Mostly, I agree that it should be able to be used as a monitor. It’s too wasteful to just get rid of it when you want a new computer. If it functioned independently as a monitor, it could be used as a second monitor or used by someone else. Or, which is what I would do, you could just plug in a Mac mini when you want to upgrade.

I want the imac to cease existing and for them to sell a 24" 4.5k display for a mac mini.

Rather mediocre attempt at trolling, even for a Mac mini fan, but I’ll bite. Mac minis are awful compared to the iMac. They are boring silver, bulky, take up desk space, and make a mess of cords.

The iMac is what saved Apple.

Not a troll at all. Environment concern. The amount of iMacs I see chucked at recycler with a perfectly working screen but manufacturer commanded obsolete computer half is insane.

As for the Mac mini it’s no uglier than the cable wart on the iMac. You put it where you can’t see it.

I would have bought an iMac before now if it could double as an extra display for my Mac Studio or other devices. The lack of that was the reason I haven’t bought one.

If the new one comes out with that feature and 27”+, the only hesitation before purchase for me would be price.

USB ports - at least one of each on the front for easy access. Height adjustment. A light-up logo on the front. Hologram projector would be nice too (Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi - you're my only hope!) etc..

I've moved way beyond the concept of an iMac, after having to take my 2011 model apart 20 times to continuously fix hardware problems or upgrading it. Totally not worth the hassle.

But if I was, I think I would want a 34" widescreen model, 120hz, USB ports on front, and a more adjustable stand.

Yup. I'm sorted for displays at the moment, but a 24" 4.5k display would be an interesting option for the Mini/Studio. Sounds terrific for a dual display setup.

There are plenty of 27" and larger options in 4k - and now a few in 5k and 6k - but the 4k @ 24" market seems to be dead. However, it's a "sweet spot" for MacOS.

I have no objection to the iMac existing as long as it doesn't come at the expense of 'headless' options - but, sadly, that has been the case in the past. The 24" iMac is a sensible successor to the original iMac. The 5k iMac was only "good" because it was a bargain price for the only 5k screen of its kind.

27" iMac was my favorite computer design of all time, even if a real desktop is much more robust. Would love to see another, but I think Apple has made its mind up about what it wants the iMac to be going forward. It's not made for power users or pros anymore like the 27" model was. We'll see if rumors are true or not about a Pro model, if so I will be positively delighted. However, it should also have at least an SD card slot on a Pro model like the MBP does. I feel like even for consumers that omission kind of sucks, even if most people don't use it.

30" 5.5k would be ideal (my old 30" Dell 3007WFP was the perfect size ... when I switched to Mac and got a 2017 27" iMac the only dislike was downsizing from 30" to 27").

DEFINITELY black bezel. That's another reason why I didn't get a 24". It's clearly not aimed at pros when it includes a white/bright bezel. You need a neutral or at the very least a black bezel for accurate colour matching on screen.
Ditto. At least one, if not two, options with a black bezel.

Open support for BSD/Linux installs. Asahi Linux requires it be installed alongside macOS; would be great if you could install only BSD/Linux on the M-series Macs.
