These are basic features found in almost every Smartphones that iPhone is lack of. Please vote only 3 features that are most important to you.

Background Notification
MMS Texting
SMS Forwarding
Cut, Copy & Paste
Edit Word/Excel documents
Themes Changer
Video Recording
Turn-by-Turn GPS
Flash Support
Bluetooth File Sharing

I am unable to constraint voters to only 3 votes, so please be honest :)

All of the above and landscape texting. Otherwise I am unlocking December the 31st when the Dev team releases the updated program or what not and selling my iPhone on eBay in January.

We really need background notification. Or, the ability to have apps run in the background. Another thing would be the ability to integrate some of the apps together. Sometimes I feel my iPhone is like a large house with many rooms, but no doors - things seem too isolated now. An example, apps are allowed to download and store files, but these files can't be shared with any other app. One exception to this may be photos. I wish there was one single, centralized file room where we could store our files and any app could access this room.

I'd take any one of those on your list. Push would be great. Turn by turn would be great too.

I was wondering, as a solution to people that travel out of range of cell reception when they go on road trips, if it were possible for google to create some sort of 'map pack' for a particular route that you enter in. Say, go into the Maps app, you enter in a route and the route/directions is shown. There might be an option somewhere for you to download the (map only, not satellite imagery) images for the length of the route, at select zoom levels.

Shouldn't be very big (filesize-wise) since the imagery isn't complex.

That out of the way...volume controls on the in-ears. Please.

I totally agree with that. A common storage area would be helpful for a lot of functions. You could save email attachments there, or even bluetooth transfers (if that ever becomes a possibility). You could also keep edited documents there (if a real office mobile app ever comes out).

no excuses, its a software company and they have had so much time to incorporate these features instead of street view or landscape mode for calculator. Utterly sad :(

all of the effin above for once and for all hows that sound software company my butt no excuses after a year this thing was out they were focusing on how to brick unlockers and landscape mode for calculator and street view :( utterly sad

Could you re-write that with some punctuation? I haven't a clue what you're trying to say.

I want Apple to deliver whatever it takes to silence the whiners on this forum. I know, dream on. :(

My wishlist:
1) Apps running in the background
2) A Notification bar that shows how many SMS, Email, Voicemail..like maybe next to the battery indicator.
3) Push Gmail
4) MMS(wont happen)
5) Ability to assign different sounds for email/sms

What about iChat? I heard something about iChat coming to 2.3, but that's just a rumor.

Out of these options the only one I would like is MMS, the others dont bother me

the main ones i am after are todo/note syncing

It never really bothered me before but lately i have run in to quite a few situations where copy and paste would have come in really handy.

I really hope Apple comes out with a truly "Copy-and-paste" function.

More than likely it wont have any of the features listed above, we will probraly just get an updated version of google maps as the main feature of 2.3

^ Yeah, better visualization of street view! That's what I WANT!

SMS Forwarding
PUSH NOTIFICATIONS ALREADY DAMN IT WTF!!!!! Excuse me...

I would love for a native tasks app on the phone and to have the Notes App on MobileMe and have them both sync.

Great idea for a poll. This really gives a good look into what people really want and how much of a priority the features are.... Apple? You out there?

It's a good idea...for our own viewing pleasures. Polls like these have been around since the inception of the iPhone and Apple has not once, with the possible exception of a more stable Safari, heeded their advice. Instead, we are fed fluff like Google Street View
