I guess Push Notification might not come to iPhone. Reason? It is too Battery-draining!!!

I have just setup MobileMe on my iPhone and use Push to synchronize the contacts and calendars with my Macbook. After putting the service to test, I noticed the battery falls drastically - Usually I would have about 50% of the juice at this time but now it has fallen to 20%.

Does this cause the delay? Is Apple waiting for the next generation iPhone (with stronger battery life) before rolling out this feature? Or is Apple still figuring out how to perfect the Push service that it is having problems with its Mobileme? I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Weird. I don't get any change in battery life and I have MobileMe and push turned on. I sync calendars, contacts and mail. My battery life is the same as before. Try resetting up your MobileMe account on your iPhone... something's not right.

I'd honestly want all of those, perhaps not SMS forwarding... But about half of those things can be done by jailbreak, so I've chosen 3 things that Jailbreak can't do. :)

cut, copy and paste
video recording
flash

are my top three, though I would like a whole slew of others too!

But I find myself needing copy and paste a lot as I'm posting on forums on my phone, video recording would be nice for those moments you can't just run and get a real video recorder and flash because I do a lot of web browsing and am tired of not being able to use a lot of sites due to the lack of flash support.

These are basic features found in almost every Smartphones that iPhone is lack of. Please vote only 3 features that are most important to you.

Background Notification
MMS Texting
SMS Forwarding
Cut, Copy & Paste
Edit Word/Excel documents
Themes Changer
Video Recording
Turn-by-Turn GPS
Flash Support
Bluetooth File Sharing

I am unable to constraint voters to only 3 votes, so please be honest :)

Stereo Bluetooth A2DP support

Ok. Where is the Stereo Bluetooth A2DP support option? not seeing it.. I want to drop my dang dongle like a dead pig.. lol - I love being wireless listening to my music.

Other phones have had this for years, My Dongle's GOT to chew up more power than if they put it in internally and it lasts for most of my 8 hour day at work as it is..

Anyway, my 1st is A2DP support
Next is the dang ability to change the sounds for new email! OMG! whats up with that?

I just want the Push notifications, Copy/Paste, and Turn-by-turn GPS we were promised months ago.

I voted for the 3 that I wanted most, MMS, cut/copy/paste and video recording.. (carelessly overlooked the option for flash, that would have replaced video for me)

but I didn't see an option for "fix the bugs that started with 2.2" such as the fuzzy photo issue..

I seems that Cut, Copy & Paste, Background notification and MMS Texting are what users wanted most.

Ability to have custom SMS and email alerts.

Copy/Paste, a very basic function to lack for a "smart phone".

The push notifications that were promised for September.

A better home screen notification system, where you can see if you have unread emails (or notifications from other apps). Currently there is no way to know whether you have email or not without unlocking the phone which is stupid.

Options to turn off things like coverflow/landscape keyboards if you want, I find this maddening when I try to select music while lying down and it changes to cover-flow which I think is gimmicky and never use.

I voted Themes Changer, MMS Texting, and Video Recording.
I chose those, because I think those would be the most logical for a phone. A basic Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc. phone has MMS, Video Recording, and a Theme Changer.
So, why not?
Just my 2 cents. :)

He wants an iphone thats louder. He can't hear a damn thing. Gosh

definetly themes!! i hate jailbreaking and themes would be amazing. They could charge like 99 cents per theme with some being free. then 2nd i want flash support. flash is the bomb

What kills me is some ofthose things are already available if you jail break.

Is apple saying they are not savvy enough to write the code to address the shortfalls or do the just not care because they are all on the BB storm

We really need background notification. Or, the ability to have apps run in the background. Another thing would be the ability to integrate some of the apps together. Sometimes I feel my iPhone is like a large house with many rooms, but no doors - things seem too isolated now. An example, apps are allowed to download and store files, but these files can't be shared with any other app. One exception to this may be photos. I wish there was one single, centralized file room where we could store our files and any app could access this room.

In other words... Add the Finder! I would love that too! :)

P.S. To everyone in this thread, the absolutely LEAST likely feature you will get from that list is themes without a doubt! Trust me, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!
