Rewording OP:
How much should the iPad mini cost for you to buy it?

Ideal = $199

I'd still buy it at $249. Heck, even $299 but that's as far as I would go.

Kind of an oddly worded poll....I'm sure everyone would 'prefer' for it be as cheap as possible......

I took the wording as how much do you 'think' the iPad mini will be. Because otherwise surely everyone would just put $199 lol!

Anyway, I think $249 for 8gb! £199.

$199 conflicts with iPod touch though doesn't it?
OR
are they thinking of ditching the high end touches for iPad Minis
OR
will the iPod touch be replaced by the iPad Minis

I would however buy one in a heartbeat if it was $249 (£200 here in the UK)

£199 in the UK and I would buy it .. retina display 7-8 inch ... thinner, lighter .. magical ... considering the other offerings by amazon, google etc ... apple need to price it under £200/ $200USA

£199 is a v nice price for the UK.

But £199 may be for an 8gb iPad mini vs a 32gb Kindle Fire HD and 16gb Nexus 7 (both of which are £199).

I don't know what Apple will do, in $ $50 more for an iPad 8gb over a Nexus 7 sounds good but I bet that 32gb Kindle Fire HD for the same price will sway a LOT of people, especially since in the UK it is Ad free.

no offense. but this is a dumb survey, if u put $0.99 or $0, that would be the highest vote. cause we want it to be the lowest.

the question shld be.. if the iPad mini were to be released, what would the price be like?

I still don't understand how people are saying the iPad mini will eat into the iPod Touch. My experience is that iPod Touch people use them all the time, outdoors to run/hike, biking etc... The size of the Touch is so much more convenient for that that. Running/hiking or biking with a 7" device is going to be difficult. Try throwing that on your arm...

I want it to be at 0$ and it should come with a free iPhone 5.

It *should* be 199$, that's where the competition is.

249$ is more probable realistically.

299$ is also a possibility, but I'm not buying it at that price, especially if it's essentially *just* a smaller iPad 2.

What else is the mini ipad going to be other than a shrunken ipad? Unless apple can get the components parts down, they're going to make sure they make a decent profit on this device; they don't consider razor-thin profit margins acceptable, unlike google or amazon. The fact is $299 might be a possibility, but it all depends on component costs and what apple wants for profit.

I said shrunken iPad 2. Emphasis on 2. Meaning same hardware as 2, same resolution as 2. I think that for the same tech and specs as the iPad 2, 299$ is a lot. If it has better specs (middleground between 2 and 3?) then 299$ might be justifiable.

I'd like it to be $199 for affordability. However I'd also rather it be $300-350 if that would mean it would have a retina display.
