When reading about the iPhone 5 a lot of sites claim it will have a " radical redesign "

This is a link to the claim

http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/234298/20111019/apple-iphone-5-release-features-steve-jobs-innovation-tim-cook.htm

Does this mean it will have a "new look"

or does redesign mean it will be a complete different phone with totally different specs than the past models? Sort of like comparing a HTC one x to a Sony Xperia S

Most likely a new look on the external. Plus the expected bump in internal specs. All speculation of course.

I just hope it won't be a completely different phone like 4 was to 3GS. But everytime I think of that being the case I say "what else can they improve" at the moment? Besides a few bumps in specs

----------

But I would like to know what the article meant in "radical redesign"

What does radical redesign change mean to you? Its the outside of the phone. Everything you can see. External.

Successful troll is winning.

I don't understand how I am trolling

These days everything is trolling

Anyway I just wanted to know what they meant by "extreme redesign" and I found out that it means the outside of the phone and NOT a completely redesigned phone including internals, which I originally thought it meant lol

You can't be serious. "extreme redesign" means an entirely new phone. Like 3GS to 4. Both the internals and external have been upgraded. It's like a different phone just running the same OS.

But, I seriously doubt they'll introduce a new phone in October with the same internals. A new 4" screen, higher processor to push it and larger battery to say the least.

Yes I know it will have a forward bump in internals but do you think it will have "new must have" features like how the 4 had a front camera, retina display, siri etc

Because besides 4g, LTE, NFC, new screen, new exterior, better camera and a bump forward in internals I don't know what else they could add to make it bigger?

Well 4G, NFC, bigger screen and better camera is a pretty big upgrade if you ask me.

NFC and LTE are two big things I want (Assuming the LTE will be compatible with EverythingEverywhere 4G network coming Q3/4)

Take a look at OP's other threads... basically, he's just bought a 4S this late in the release cycle and is now trying to convince himself that the next gen iPhone will be a very minor update and that all the likely updates (physical redesign, quad-core, NFC, LTE, bigger screen, better camera, better battery life) are things which he doesn't need... he just can't seem to accept the fact that there will be something headline-grabbing like there was for all the past iDevice updates.

Yes the headline grabbing feature will be the 4G LTE and possible big screen

Which are important updates to many people, except you, evidently.

My question is, is it really necessary to create 4 threads on basically the same topic ('will my 4S look outdated when compared to the new iPhone, and what updates are expected')?

I live in a country which 4G doesn't look very near yet
