Yes, it's a big deal (many of us have said this in your previous posts). Unless you needed the phone badly, you screwed up. Stop posting, you're just trolling now. See above for more reference.

OP has also been PM'ing me nonstop since I posted.

I have gotten 13 PM's from this guy as well. A lot of duplicates in there as well, but basically asking the same question.

To be blunt....When the next iPhone is released you will regret getting the 4S. How do I know this? Because you are obviously already regretting it.

The next iPhone is going to be readically different from anything we are used to. The 4S form factor is what we think of when anyone says iPhone. It will have been around for 2 years when the next model is released. So yes, it's going to be extreme. And Apple takes design just as serious as functionality. Even down to the packaging inside the packaging. So I expect it to be beautiful. Both inside and out. Apple knows what has to be done this time around. They are not going to disappoint.

How old are you by the way? Just curious.

The OP has been sending me private messages every 45 minutes or so asking the same thing.

Why are you LYING!!? I sent u 1 pm only. Do you find pleasure in lying or something?

Moderators can even check and if they see if I sent him more than ONE pm.

And if i did than please ban my ip now!

Im am sorry for sending u duplicates as I thought they did not get sent. But I am not trolling

Bit to the liar before that said I send him PMs every 45 mins. I think he is a compulsive liar

All I wanted to know was if "redesigned" meant that the iPhone 5 will be very very different to current model that no one will even know that it is a iPhone

Or does it just mean the iPhone 5 will be radically redesigned on the exterior and a understandable upgrade internally but it will still work the same way as the previous models

And also when people say it will be similar to the 3GS to 4 do they mean that the front camera, retina display, siri and other amazing 4s features will fall obscure some sort of new unknown over the top feature

Or does a 3GS to 4 transition mean that like the 4, the iPhone 5 will have a new look but the most upgrades it will have are slightly newer updates of the 4s features and not anything SO overly unbelievable and UN thought of that it will make the 4s look like a complete piece of crap

Please forgive me if I have made it a hard time for anyone

It's just these couple of questions that I would love to know
Just that :)

It just sounds like you are trolling because of the numerous posts you have made on the same subject. Then saying you don't know what a "radical re-design" means over and over, is exactly a troll type of post. No one knows what's coming...No one has a clue. Everyone is just guessing and hoping. If you are happy with the 4S, then just enjoy it. No reason to come here asking if you made the right decision. Only you know that. But from the sounds of your posts, it seems you think you may have made the wrong choice. If so, just sell it, put the money aside, pick up something used, save a few bucks every week and pay full price for the next iPhone. But don't wait until the new one gets announced before you decide to sell. I say make a decision by August sometime and hopefully we will have some good parts leaks, or possibly a lost device to help make your decision easier.

Thanks but I believe I will keep my 4s and get the 5s or whatever it will be named because by that time any issues with the 5 would have been fixed

I also fixed up my last post to explain (IN DETAIL) what my intention of the op question was if you guys can just give me your take on that I will be very grateful:)

Once again I am sorry if I annoyed you but I just was just wondering

Apple tends to redesign products like car manufactuers.

We all know car manufactuers "redesign models" every 4-6 years. While electronics isn't on that type of level, Apple clearly doesn't redesign products ever year.

Look at the MacBook Air. It went through 2-3 refreshes from the original Jan 2008 launch. But wasn't "redesigned" until mid 2010.

Same with the iMac. The current iMac model is a "late 2009" model. Very similar shell with upgraded "specs".

While people group the iPhone 3G/3GS together. People often forget the original iphone 2007 was the exact phone as the iPhone 3G (minus GPS/3G chip) and Apple just replaced the aluminum back with plastic back on the 3g because of antenna problems.

So in essence, Apple went 3 years with the same "design" iphone 2007/iphone 3g/iphone 3gs (same screen display, exact camera and RAM/processor in both the iphone 2007/iphone 3g...they doubled the RAM in the iphone 3gs the increase the processor speed in the 3g along with one extra megapixel in the 3GS).

So iPhone 4 was the first "radical redesign" in 3 years for the iphone.

Yeah, tend to agree the iphone 4S fixed all the problems of the iphone 4 (antenna design plus really fixed the prox sensor). iPhone 4S will probably become what the iPhone 3GS in 2 years.

iPhone 3GS fixed all the short comings of the original iphone and iphone 3G. That's why it's still selling after almost 3 years. iPhone 3GS was and still is a solid phone.

Um you've sent me numerous PM's. Don't call me a lier.

Please just accept the fact the iphone 5 WILL have many new features, WILL be a major upgrade, you WILL miss out on the features and you HAVE made a mistake by purchasing the 4S so late. Now go.

My iPhone 4 has never had "bugs". The antenna thing is a none issue to me I've had it for almost two years now(june24th) and it has been an amazing phone. Apple won't release a phone with some kind of antenna problem after what happened with the 4. I expect the new iPhone to be bug free. Faster then the 4s and a much bigger upgrade than the 4s was ever.
Of course the new iPhone will work just like the old ones that's how the software is. But people will know you have the new iPhone compared to the older ones for sure and people want a whole redesign.

No I have not sent you "numerous texts" that is a straight out LIE!

Where did I say numerous texts? I said PM's. I can show a screenshot of all the PM's I've got from you. I won't though to much effort for this thread.

Go back to english class and learn what "extreme redesign" means.

mods warn me for this, should you wish.

Well sorry I meant PMs

And PLEASE I beg you show me these numerous PMs I sent to u every 40 minutes

I live in a country which 4G doesn't look very near yet

You live in Australia according to your previous posts and Telstra AU already has an LTE network set up. http://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/coverage-networks/network-information/4g/

I already told you about this in one of your previous threads but it looks like you were too busy creating new threads on the same topic to read the replies

Look- your 4S is going to look outdated in a few months (at least as outdated the 3GS looked when the 4 came out). The next iPhone will be physically redesigned and will look different from the 4S. Yes, the average consumer will notice. That's what an 'extreme redesign' means.

The number of threads you post on this topic will not change the number of new features Apple will add.

Looks like I've been lucky enough to not have received any PMs :D

Yes Telstra is the only carrier that provides 4g and no one in their right mind contracts with Telstra

You've gone from 'there is no 4G, planned or otherwise, in Australia' to 'there is 4G but nobody uses it since nobody uses Telstra'. Good job.

Optus also has 4G up and running in some cities and major Australian cities will have 4G coverage by summer '12.

http://www.optus.com.au/aboutoptus/About+Optus/Media+Centre/Media+Releases/2012/Optus+launches+4G+network+across+Newcastle+and+Hunter+region

Vodafone AU finished their 4G LTE tests in 2010 and are planning on launching the service soon, with their 4G towers already going up in preparation for a nationwide launch.

http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/aboutvodafone/network/huawei/index.htm

Are you now going to tell me that nobody uses those networks either, and the only network Australians 'in their right mind' use is Virgin Mobile (a network which actually uses Optus towers)?

What is your point?

I didn't even know that and even that I don't care that much for 4G at the moment so yeah whatevs

My point is:

-Get your facts straight
-Stop creating multiple threads on the same topic
-If you don't care and think it's 'whatevs' (whatever that means), then why even ask? We've asked you multiple times what you would consider a 'major update', and all you've said is 'NFC, 4G, redesign, blah blah, I don't care about those at all'.

Why don't you just tell us what you want? If all you want to hear that your 4S will be the latest and most cutting edge product Apple will offer for the next 10 years, then say so and I'm sure everyone will oblige :)

I don't understand how I am trolling

These days everything is trolling

Anyway I just wanted to know what they meant by "extreme redesign" and I found out that it means the outside of the phone and NOT a completely redesigned phone including internals, which I originally thought it meant lol

The Troll is strong with this one.

I did type this on a search engine

That's why my op was do you think by redesign they meant in appearence or function?

You should have read it instead of posting that

why don't you wait a few months and see what will really happen. Speculation is fun and all and part leaks but you never know till it comes out. Im still pissed off about the 4s launch. Worst launch they have ever had.

Really?
What would have made the launch better for you?

Actually, it makes sense to contract with Telstra. Their service is way superior. For businesses/rural users telstra is a must.

I don't use telstra for personal use but for business it is the best by far. Stop making excuses and trying to justify purchasing a 4S so late in the release cycle.
