When I type "diskutil partitiondisk" command in terminal, it tells me: "(Re)Partition an existing disk. All volumes on this disk will be destroyed.". Does it mean the volumes will be converted into one and formatted or does it mean they'll be converted into one but keeping the data?

The meaning of "destroyed" is ambiguous :)

Physically, the data remain, but that they need to restore the right software. What I do not advise it. Since fully restore fail.
