I am curious, I see this frequently, and I have seen others mention it - as in the attached picture, what causes a CPU measurement to be well over 100%? That doesn't make sense, right? This is from a 2017 MBP.

What is that process?

A 2017 MBP has 4 cpu cores x 2 threads each so you could have up to 800% CPU usage if a process were to use the processor completely. 100% means 1 thread is fully used by a process.
 
Ah - that's what I thought but I forgot about 2 threads per core so I couldn't get past 400%. That answers it, thanks!
