    Hello All,
I tried searching for features that iOS 7 will have for ATV3, could anyone please tell me about it. Or, has anyone tried the beta for ATV3. Thanks.

I just bought one myself. I'm sure some of u know this already, but supposedly you can still install Plex on a non JB Apple TV 3.

I should get it this week. I'll post after I give it a whirl.

I've been using the Plex 'hack' on my ATV3 for the past week. Works well enough and is simple to set up. The scripts running on the server though could use a little tidy up and hopefully run in a different manner e.g. for example you can't wake your Plex server from the ATV3 client at this time so you need to find another way of waking the server before the Plex client will function.

Thats with the MyPlex I think, which is paid. Anyother workaround? Whats your update about you trying PLex on ATV3?

MyPlex is free, Plex pass is the paid add on.
He is referring to PlexConnect which is also free and simple to set up. You just need to run a script on the host Plex server and change a dns entry on your ATV3 under network settings to get Plex to work on the ATV3 or non jailbroken ATV2. Works very well indeed.

I didn't pay for the PlexPass subscription, but I did end up getting Plex to work routing it through the Trailers app tho. Sort of.
My network media through Plex worked great, but then my other apps on the ATV started to get stuck on the Loading.... screen. Espn, HBO Go, Hulu+, & the Radio app all were giving me problems. So I undid everything w/ the Plex hack, restored the ATV, & was STILL having problems. Now this time w/ YouTube as well. Long story short..... Did another restore & turned off 2 step verification for my Google accounts (to get back into YouTube) & everything was back up & running. Needless to say I won't be using this Plex hack anymore. My 64GB flash drive works just fine plugged into my Samsung LCD. It plays any media I throw at it. :)

I was monitoring that Python script (I think that's the one) & noticed it not only reroutes media through the Trailers app, but through all the other apps as well. With Watch Espn running, it kept routing it through just like the trailers app.
(Sorry for the poor explanation, not too familiar w/ this kind of stuff)

That script captures all Internet requests from the ATV. It reroutes all requests for the Apple Trailers url to the Plex Webserver, all other requests are passed to the router to hit the Internet as normal. You may run into issues if the server is sleeping because it then can't accept and reroute the ATV requests.

THAT'S the right explanation I was looking for lol. Ya like I said, for me it's just unnecessary. It is pretty convenient having access right on the ATV, but my flash drive works like a charm.

I really hope they bring the iOS 7 UI to the Apple TV. The Apple TV UI is just out of place now.

Thanks people, PlexPass is what I actually meant. :D .. Anyways, thanks, will search for the procedure and setup Plex on my ATV3. Hope all goes well.

    Cheers!

It's really straight forward - should literally take a few mins max to set up. Out of curiosity, what are you using as a Plex server?

Right now, I'm using a MacbookAir, but will be using a Windows Laptop in a few days, which is out for repair. Would you mind guiding me with where to find the script for ATV3 and what to do with it. Thanks.

Not sure if links are allowed here or not but if you just google Plexconnect it will be the first result. On that page, instead of using Git just download the zip file and unzip it to a location on your drive. The instructions are all there but feel free to ask any questions...

Looks like it is finding 2 Plex servers. Do you have two instances of Plex installed?
