SSH is a way to transfer files between computers.

SSH means secure shell. It helps protect connections between two devices.

I did a senior project on VNC, a remote desktop app some use on the touch, and we used SSH to secure our connection from school to home.

i don't see why you would need SSH in the first place unless you ARE using VNC on the Touch, which probably requires jailbreak anyway. so i guess so.

If you don't know what it is, you likely don't need it ;) .

SSH is a great tool, however can be dangerous to use if you don't know what you are doing. It is the same as opening Terminal on your Mac (if you own a mac), however SSH is used to open a terminal on a separate computer or device.
