I called Apple Support to tell them about my second iPad with backlight bleeding, and after the woman on the phone spoke with her supervisor she said that my serial number has a case and is flagged, so I should take it to an Apple Retail store. Does anybody know what a "case" means? I'm hoping it means that the geniuses make sure my new iPad doesn't have any problems.

it means that you're specific issue regarding your ipad is in apple's system. The serial number is matched with your issue in a "case" file in their system. This also means that if you take it to an apple store they will be able to see your "case" and this will enable you to get a replacement.
