iPod touch What does it mean when the screen turns white and turns off?

I just finished loading more music, unplugged it when the screen went back to home because my computer never let me know it was synching again. Was checking that all the albums went through in landscape mode and the screen white for a 1 minute than turned off. What does that mean?

It turned off, I turned it back on and everything seems fine now.
