    Hey everyone,
A while ago I jailbroke my iPhone and downloaded some tweaks, but the tweaks made my phone unstable so I decided to restore from backup. It didn't do anything to my phone though, and the jb was still on there, so I did another method and was able to reset my phone and get all my apps back. So my question is, what did restore from backup do my phone if it didn't do anything?

    Sure it did.

It just didn't do what you probably assumed it was going to do.

Backups only store your data. They do not store system files or anything else not related to your personal data.

So, when you restore from backup you are restoring ONLY your data - nothing else.

The only way to unjailbreak is either to restore as new, DFU restore as new and then restore from a backup, or Erase All Contents and Settings from the phone and then restore from a backup. That last option is generally a no-no on jailbroken devices.
