What does the (3) mean next to "macbook"

Under my devices it has "jake melara's macbook (3)" jake melaras macbook is the name of my mb but i dont understand what the (3) is. I know I didnt put it there. Any help?

It's the third computer on the network with the Jake's MacBook name, so it appends a number to it.

Is there any way to change it to the first?

Just go to Sharing in Preferences and delete the "(3)", as long as you don't have a computer with the same name.
