I'm a 20 year old college student who up until a week ago had no idea these things existed. Once I did I realized that all the younger people seem to be wearing them. Today I went and bought myself a pack of music ones and I now have a guitar, trombone, and trumpet around my wrist. Does anyone else this age wear them or am I gonna look like I'm trying too hard to be young?

You're 20, in college, and you're wearing silly bands? Good luck with all that. :D

I thought only 10 year olds wore them.

You're not very supportive :(

You're 20 wearing rubber bands shaped like random objects on your arm, sorry, I just can't see that being age-appropriate. Do you see others in college wearing them? I'm well out of school so I can't tell you.

You asked what we thought of them. You didn't ask us to validate your decision to wear bracelets. ;)

1. You're in college...spending about $0.22 per rubber band isn't smart
2. Toys r us lists recommended age 5-8
3. I'm a pediatrician and by early HS they're no longer cool

But I'm sure you're the king of the frat rocking those bandz!!!!

I work with kids, and occasionally they'll give them to you as gifts, so I'll wear them until they snap. They're not incredibly durable. Oh, I'm 25.

If you are actually worried about what other people think and are seeking validation I think you already have your answer

You can pretend like you don't seek other peoples validation all you want, everyone does it.

You can mask your need to seek validation as an opinion poll but we all know you want faceless people to validate your tragic fashion decisions. ;) My opinion, and like *******s they all stink, is you're well out of the age range for these silly things.

Not everyone does it about rubber bands ;)

Exactly. :D

I work at a amusement park and the all the kids have them. I wear them on occasion because kids give them to us. The kids like to see us wear them and it makes them happy so it helps us relate to the kids and make their day a little better.

But if you dont work with kids anything over 15 is to old.

By the way I am 19, but as i said earlier I work at a amusement park but only wear em to work.

My friend's 14 year old little brother wears them...

My 5-year-old son and his school friends wear them. They're collectively about a month away from "outgrowing" them and moving on to something else.

OP - since you're asking for our opinion, here's mine - if you're trying to look like you're in kindergarten, you're going about it the right way. If you'd like to look like a college student, I'd take an altogether different approach.

Must be a lonely and frustrating life.

You're getting online and asking people if they think it's cool that you're wearing something made for kids. My 11 year old thinks you're "sooo uncool".

I wonder what kind of retarded useless thing I could make out of .00001 cents worth of rubber or plastic and market it to make millions--the pet rock just keeps reincarnating doesn't it?

Nothing wrong with that. A GREAT product you might consider accompanying the Silly Bandz is a Mr. Microphone. I'm sure you'll be BMOC in no time.

Haha. I have one sitting on my computer desk at home that I got from a friend in school (High school)....I never wear it though lol. It just...looks stupid to me.

Maybe we're approaching the Ironic part of the hipster cycle?
Didn't ravers use dummies in the 90's? I grew out of those when I was a baby but there's no way I'm going to tell someone smacked off their tits with neon hair that.
