What does the number mean underneath our usernames?

    This might be somewhere, but I don't think I've seen an explanation. Underneath my username it says, "macrumors 6502". Is there a significance to that number?

    The 'number' should be a link to the FAQ to stop this question being asked every 36 minutes.

    Yeah, I figured I'd catch some grief for asking. I actually just noticed it a few days ago. Thanks for the info!
