What does the the "i" in iLife stand for?

I honestly though the "i" in iLife and iPod and what not stood for independent or individual. I don't know I always considered Apple standing for individuality in stuff.

I always just assumed it stood for "innovative" ... seems to fit with the other marketing words Apple/Jobs use to describe themselves and their products.
