EQ i have the option to click on the symbol next to the volume bar. This brings up another notification with ipod touch with a tick on it as seen below. what does this mean? and can i remove it in settings?

That's a setting where you would like to stream music. If you would have headphones plugged in or connected by Bluetooth you might switch between speaker and headphones

Btw, that icon cannot be removed.

In the app settings it says if there is an AirPlay network available you will see the AirPlay icon appear next to the volume slider.

does this mean i can stop it from connecting to a airplay network or something?

I think you have no way to stop that from happening. That is, it is a system wide thing. Because I am not familiar with your app, I might be wrong.
