That's a setting where you would like to stream music. If you would have headphones plugged in or connected by Bluetooth you might switch between speaker and headphones

No, it's an AirPlay icon, so if you wanted to send it to a Apple TV, or Bluetooth speaker, etc

It's a "cast" icon in general - you could send audio/video stream to Airplay devices or bluetooth devices.

You couldn't have been responding as they hadn't posted yet ;)
I appreciate the extra clarity added, thanks both.

In the app settings it says if there is an AirPlay network available you will see the AirPlay icon appear next to the volume slider.

does this mean i can stop it from connecting to a airplay network or something?

You quoted electronicsguy saying you weren't responding to him. electronicsguy hadn't posted before your reply so no one would have thought that anyway. Strange.

Think electronics guy was telling me it's a general Cast icon when he thought I said no to Adam

I think you have no way to stop that from happening. That is, it is a system wide thing. Because I am not familiar with your app, I might be wrong.
