What does "under review" mean?

Apple Store UK is currently showing order status on my eMac as "under review". Any clues what this actually means?

Did you order something out of the ordinary? Did you apply for the educational discount? It could just be it is BTO and they are checking everything out before they set a ship date. How long has it been under review?

Just a Combo eMac with 512Mb. The only 'out of the ordinary' was that I paid by cheque. But it's still showing 'under review' after a week and a half - curious.

Post cheque on day 1, it arrives day 3, day 4 it's banked it could be 6 working days before that cheque is cleared and perhaps another day to confirm the order thats 11 working days or 13 days straight.

Could that be the answer?
