That is one of the reasons why I like the Gmail app. But the majority of the time, I'm not waiting on an important email since I usually get newsletter emails, so I'm content with fetch every hour.
Probably the main reason I use Spark is due to snoozing emails. Haven't like others that have that feature. If IOS mail had snooze email feature I would probably switch back to it.
Canary mail iOS has been released. Anyone else have it and can post pictures of it looks? Especially how it handles threaded emails. Too bad they have a trial version. The app is 4.99

I see it in the App Store for iPhone, but when I search for it on my iPad it doesn't find it... Anyone have any luck getting this for iPad?

I bought the app last week and I didn't like it to be honest. I had high hopes.
The UI is not clear at all I think and also e-mails are shown in a window so the amount of actual e-mail info is tiny especially if you own a SE device like me. It does have a dark or a white modus.
Also feature wise I'm missing quite a few features that I would like to see e.g:
* show attachments above messages
* have certain action for both long and short swipe left for example (now it's one or the other)
Currently their app doesn't support iPad yet which is odd since the launched the app so recently so you would expect a Universal app in 2017 but ok they promised that they are working on a dedicated iPad version. Ofcourse the iPhone version works on iPad as well.
Good thing I didn't buy it lol. Any idea why app store can't let you try an app before paying for it? At least let us have an idea what we getting

You can get a refund within certain timeframe (48 hours or so?) but indeed you would have to buy first.
Nowadays developers do have the option to have a short video created and that is visible in the App Store but not all vendors use that yet. Also ofcourse it could also be interesting to check the website of the developer and maybe check YouTube or such sites to see if someone already did a review but ofcourse it would be nicer indeed to test it yourself without paying for it.

Email by easilydo is great. Best alternative to mail. I'll switch to mail as soon as can push gmail.

As the native mail app does all I need when checking my email accounts and reading/writing/sending mail,I see no point in getting something else.

I love Airmail! There are a few small features I wish it had but it feels years more modern than Mail.app (especially for Gmail or GSuite accounts).

Gmail because I have Gmail pulling in several of my personal accounts.
HOWEVER, I wish Gmail would allow increasing the font size. That really sucks.

Also to everyone else, as I just asked on another thread:
Can all my emails and mailboxes and accounts be easily migrated to new apps? Are all email apps compatible for migration, or are there some to avoid? I've found mail to be buggy, and am thinking of Thunderbird now that they have a new home. Either that, or Airmail seems to get a lot of raves. But I don't want to do it if it's going to take an enormous amount of compatibility work with address books and ios and other compatibility issues I haven't even thought of.

I always use apple mail and for work mail I use type app. Oh a gmail is on TypeApp too as it does push.

The vast majority of third party email apps right now pull your email onto their own servers & then push it onto your device. You're relying on their security to keep your data safe and you're hoping they're not doing shady stuff like Unroll.me was for years.
No, some bespoke email apps are intended for use with just the email provider's own email service, so migration is not guaranteed.

Not all are compatible with certain services, but most are. Some are gMail only or Exchange only, but most popular services support major services. I've used Airmail, Spark, EasilyDo and several others with no problems. Of course, you'll need to set up each app for your needs (signatures, lines displayed, connected services, etc.) but it's usually pretty easy and some even have assistants to... assist.

How is Spark free? Is it run by an open source crowd, like Thunderbird?
(And why oh why didn't Thunderbird break from Mozilla and get adopted by the ODF Libreoffice crowd? It might have been adopted by all those local governments running with Libreoffice).
Not sure why Spark is free. You'd have to ask them about their model. I didn't cite that as a reason to use it—I simply mentioned it as one that I've tried. Also, not sure how Thunderbird, Mozilla, etc. factor in to this discussion...
