What exactley are they updating?

Can somone tell me, in non-techie way, EXACTLEY what the difference will be when they update the mbps?

I'm itching to buy one!

Faster processors, meaning the system will run faster and cooler...

The rest is pretty much rumours. Some believe there will be LED backlighting which means that screens could be brighter and require less power. H.264 encoding means that it could be able to convert videos to a format that can be played on the iPod and appleTV very quickly and without slowing down the system. Some believe that there may be a case redesign. It is likely that there will be a better graphics card, meaning that 3D things, such as games, will appear better.

And there are often small things that people have not thought of.

if you want to buy one now, do it. the current line of MBPs are very capable machines with excellent components. the upgrades will likely mean nothing to the average consumer.

yup. <10% performance improvements aren't something that most anyone is going to notice.

there is always something better coming out next tuesday, anyway. no sense wait for a g5 laptop to be released...
