What exactly is "dashboardadvisoryd" advising?

Every so often, Little Snitch gives the following alert:

It does this whether Dashboard is running or not. What's the deal?

The weather? I would assume is a widget that gets info off the internet.

 

[Sayer]

It is a background-only app that verifies that Dashboard widgets running on your computer are not modified from those available from Apple.com. Since widgets can load and run "native" program code, the potential exists for a widget to load nefarious code and do Bad Things™ to your computer.
