For me, though I know its probably not coming, but lack of USB will be the most disappointing for me. Not saying the Ipad 2 wont be great. Was just curious what one item realistically could be on the IPAD but wont. We all know flash will never be there and frankly I like that.

So what feature will you be sad not see when the new Ipad is shown?

By USB do you mean a host port? Don't you think it kind of defeats the purpose of an ultra portable device? We already know that it will not support hard drives and the like until there is file system access, which is not going to happen anytime soon.

A feature I want but I know will not appear is a speaker port on both ends of the device so it does not actually sounds like the audio is coming from next to the ipad.

What I really will be disappointed to see not appear is a bigger battery life. I use my ipad so much I drain it every day.

Just mean a USB port to use for flash drives, and such. Maybe Im old school and just not nuts storing thing in the "clouds". I want to move something off the Ipad , i dont have to hook it up to my computer or email it. Like i said, prolly wont be there, its a personal thing.

dual camera and thunderbolt.
without thunderbolt on the ipad it may doe as a format on the computer. apples needs major support and since thrid party devices wont start until late this year/early next year when PC makers will adopt it. it makes sense to equip all apple devices with thunderbolt therefore forcing it into the market.

I'll be disappointed if the new iPad doesn't rock me to sleep and sing me lullabies. Oh, and do my laundry.

Higher res (1080P) display and a miniHDMI IN port.
7" or 7.5" diagonal would be sweet. Ipad too big, iphone too small :D

whats with this weird obsession with HDMI on phones and tablets. something like firewire or thunderbolt makes more sense if they want to target media professionals.

also some non proprietary DLNA would be nice.

HDMI in would be perfect (I know it won't happen) and I am a media professional. The iPad would make a great additional camera display.

I will be most disappointed if they dont improve the display... I dont mean retina, but at least a little! also the 1gb ram, My iphone already has 512 ram, and I think the ipad really ought to be able to do better than that!

You're right. I would love a thunderbolt! I'm suprised i didn't think of this.

And generate threads of:

1) "I told you so"
Or
2) "What features not found on iPad 2 will be on iPad 3?"

I've been holding out for a few months, so I'm really easy: Either cheaper price points or more storage at the current price points. I'm expecting other things to change, like a FaceTime camera and probably more RAM and a faster CPU. But I know the display probably won't get bumped up to iPhone 4 territory, so I'll just have to deal. I'm not going to worry about the iPad 3 rumors considering they're just that -- rumors. I'm going to need some portable computing device soon, so I'll have to bite on whatever this is.

The iPad is not aimed at "professionals" iMac's are not aimed at "professionals"

They are supposed to be easy to use home devices for the average consumer.
that was the whole point of the "i" range in the 1st place.
