This isn't meant to initiate a debate about what features are or aren't useful, but rather just sharing how we each use our iPhones differently based on our personal preferences.

The question is, what notable feature(s) does the iPhone offer that most users probably take advantage of, but you choose not to?

I, for example, don't use the always on display or lift to wake. I prefer my display to remain off unless I deliberately activate it.

I haven't reprogrammed the Action button on my 15 Pro to do anything but the default ring/silent.

Like you, I leave always on display off as I find it kind of distracting and weird to have my phone display active when I'm not using it.

I don't ever use Siri, although I bet I'm one of many that's disabled it. I've also never used Reachability before.

My action button does nothing but the default ring/silent.

I also don't care for Dynamic Island. Just too small to provide any useful information, and it gets in the way more than it helps. I also like to tap at the top of the page in Safari to quickly scroll to the top, and now I have to be careful to not tap the pill. Wish I could disable the whole damned thing.

Anything that uses “Machine Learning” like the ‘For You’ album in the photos app. I’d say that every assumption that  makes for me is wrong.

I don't use Airdrop, or any Apple feature that can already be handled by all the computers around me.

The action button in my 15 Pro is set to the same ring/silent function as the old rocker switch. I don’t use the AOD either.

Siri - never used since getting my first iPhone/iPad and even now that I have a pre-owned 15" MacBook Pro 2015

I used to transfer using data cable but since 2019/2020 I just use AirDrop or Send Anywhere...

Oh and “significant locations”, who the hell wants their phone to log everywhere they go and how often!

I changed the action button to null as I do not use it. Before I turned it off, it got switched to silent, twice so off it goes.

Siri, always on, action button on silent/mute.

Only charge with MagSafe makes no diff to battery imo.

I’m sure there are plenty of features I “don’t use” - but I don’t actively avoid them, they’re just… features I don’t use ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ for example, I’ve not used the time-lapse photography feature. I have nothing against it, just haven’t needed it.

A lot of replies here seem to be features people choose not to use.

Setting a background photo, Siri, the camera button on the Lock Screen, notification sounds, pressing a volume button to take a picture, Home Screen widgets, Home Screen apps, multiple Home Screen pages, sending SMS text messages, screen time, stand-by, FaceTime, battery saving mode, the SIM card tray, all camera modes beside photo and video, the lightning port. That's just of the top of my head.

Probably no need to upgrade this year!

Hardware: I haven’t yet utilized USB 3. I only occasionally snap my iPhone to the MagSafe charger. No AOD — I tried it but not for me.

Software. I’ve rarely used Portrait mode — though I do want to do more photography. I haven’t yet tried Cinematic mode. I use very few of the Messages extras (e.g., stickers). I’ve done nothing with Contact Posters. I doubt I will ever use NameDrop. I only occasionally use Standby (as in the nightstand clock-type feature). There are probably plenty I’m not recalling.

I have not programmed the action button on my 15 Pro. It’s remained on ring/silent since I purchased the device. I just don’t have real reason to program it to do anything else.

I rarely use Siri — but this has always been the case. I do use it occasionally in CarPlay when replying to a text, but that’s really about it.
