its not in a compressed folder. so how do i play it or un compress it?

That's not an extension. Do a get info ( + I ) on the file and tell us what comes up in the "Name & Extension" field. There's a good chance that there'll be extension that's hidden by Mac OS.

well i ran rar expander on the first file and it uncompressed a .avi file that has the whole film in one file..
