What file/folder do I need to put a ringtone in

order to have it work as a SMS tone. i don't want to use bitesms(hate how it pops up mid screen, I use Tlerts instead). TIA

If you look around your root, one of the sub-folders has all the .caf files; that's where the SMS tones are kept.

You have to Jailbreak!

You can also use iphone explorer if you don't feel like SSH via jb.
You have to rename the file to overwrite whatever is already in the folder. You should make a backup of the original sounds if you ever change your mind.

True, but you still have to JB or you cant get to the root with iphone explorer. Or am I not understanding that correctly on their site?

I double checked their web site; no jb required. I prefer this software, because I wasn't interested in setting up a wireless network at home just so I could SSH into my phone.

u don't need wifi to ssh, u can use ifunbox.
do a usb tunnel and ssh to ur pc ip and port 22
