I Live Where I Live
A strange new file just appeared in my main hard drive folder.... well i just noticed it...

its name is pbcl.db and its icon is a blank sheet of paper.

i tried opening it and moving it out of the folder. both did nothing.

i haven't done anything unusual that would create this file.... and i'm not really sure what this file's deal is...

file1.jpg

any ideas?

Pretty sure it's a Punkbuster client file for Wolfenstein, Enemy Territory etc. I think you have to keep it to make sure Punkbuster keeps working properly.

Dunno, but "db" usually denotes a database file of some sort. Whatever it is, it probably doesn't belong under your / (root dir). I'd open it in TextWrangler or other text editor and check out the contents (try the Hex Dump command if it's all garbled). That may or may not provide a clue.

Totally right (name wise, assume is the same file). this file for me appears in Americas Army. Strange that the file appeared in the base directory and not a support folder.
