What happen to Jonathan Ive?

I've been watching Apple events for years. This seems to be the first one where Jonathan Ive wasn't preset on stage. Anyone find that odd?

Ive usually is fairly private and does not prefer to be on stage if I recall correctly from prior interviews. Not entirely shocked to not see him Or on camera.

No he's usually in the audience... only appears in his design vids on screen. I'd guess he's probably a bit awkward on stage or something...
